of the pe offered in the san francisco unified school district. we were also recognized for our partnership for our staff award and this went to a program called enhancing young woman's health through university partnerships. it is an innovative program, it is a 12 partnership between ucsf woman's health and usfd school health and wellness centers. i want to thank all of the staff members and all of the staff members from ucsf from their collaboration and particularly to claudia, and steven. speaking of partnerships i would like to call your attention to one of our strongest partnership and that is the bridge to success program. and that is a partnership between the city and county of san francisco, the department of children, youth and families, san francisco unified school districts, city college, and san francisco state university. you will see available out in the foyer, some information regarding this partnership. and the goals of this partnership are actually very simple. the goal is that we want to create a strong college and career pathway that is pre-k through post secondary in our

that san francisco is continuing to give child development program in san francisco unified school district. it is a continued example of the continued commitment that the first five have and maybing the children of san francisco 0 to 5, even as funding is diminishing, our money is partly derived from smokers, we have fewer smokers in the state of california. the commission still prioritized the need and the importance of improving the quality of preschools for young children in san francisco. it is an effort to continue to close the achievement gap and the many excess gaps that provide it. it is always allowing opportunities for young children to carry important tools and strategies with them for the rest of their life. please remember the good work the first five is doing and the commitment that they have given to the san francisco unified school district, particularly in the near future when the city is going to be reconsidering reratification and authorization of many of the other bills and propositions that have been supporting the first five, thank you. >> thank you. let's move to ite

to be the type of partner that the city and county ought to be with vis-a-vis the san francisco unified school district. so i'm very interested in this conversation as well. i want to make a moment and thank all of you for being part of this conversation, particularly the young folks who are here. because your voices, a-g for a lot of folks, people can intellectualize it, but it is helpful to hear how it impacts the lives of students and your future. so thank you for being here. x thank you very much. and again, i think it's important for us to continue this conversation. i don't know that we have to do it within the context of this item and i think there are different ways of structuring the discussion. so i would ask that we file this item, if we could have a motion by commissioner fewer. seconded by commissioner mendoza. if we can do that without objection. i will certainly bring this issue back and i think it makes sense for us to do so after -- sometime after the november election when we have a better sense of where things are. but i think that even if the measures pass, i think ther

of the settlement agreement in the amount of $35,000. in the matter of al verses san francisco unified school district, the vote of 6 ayes and one absent wins, approved the terms of the settlement agreement of the amount of 28,400. ethe board of education by six aye and one absent wins the approve of one intent to dismiss a certified certificate employee two accounts were approved by a vote of six ayes and one absent of wynns and two were approved by a vote of 4 aye and two nays and maufus and murase and two absent. >> item u, no other staff reports tonight. and in adjournment, i would like to adjourn in memory of gloria donahu, retired secretary, and administrative support from school operations. glora passed away on october 14th, after suffering a stroke visiting lake tahoe. at her side was her daughter as well as her niece, nephew, grand niece and several other living family members. glora gave this district, loyal and dedicated service for more than 20 years. she worked in the high school division for mean years under the leadership of greg bender, quinn chan and jim quinn and frank tom.
